Description
In the Ottiya Magazine Play Issue, we explore the intersections of play and learning. We uncover how education innovators all over the world understand and conceptualize play in different ways. Together with our contributors, we explore questions such as: what kind of objects allow for free play? How is tinkering related to play? What are the challenges of designing places for play? How can we help students to create playful experiences in virtual reality instead of limiting them as consumers?
You will read over one hundred pages of enriching articles and hands-on activities featuring an interview with MIT Media Lab’s Mitch Resnick, music in Ghana, and an interview of playground makers and Design School Kolding by youth reporters of the Capital of Children in Denmark. Our contributors are students, educators, architects, and practitioners who are from places as different as Japan and Ghana and represent organizations such as the Harvard Alumni for Education, the Capital of Children (an initiative of the Lego Foundation), Barefoot Nature, Danish Folkeskole. and leading International Baccalaureate schools.
